Paper Obsessed Blog Tour

Greetings, all!

I'm thrilled to be part of the blog tour for Heather Givans of Crimson Tate to share her new line of fabrics, Paper Obsessed from Windham fabrics.

Special thanks to Eric Lubrick for all photos used.

I love paper and stamps . . . and blues and whites and grays sprinkled with a bit of yellow and red. . . and a brand new notebook with crisp, clean lined pages.

There is something about getting REAL mail plastered with lots of fun stamps that makes me weak in the knees!

So, my heart started going pitter-pat as soon as I saw Heather's designs for Paper Obsessed! I couldn't wait to use those crisp, clean colors and too-fun designs in a project.

I was especially thrilled to see the paper airlines, the stamps featuring Heather's "eyeglass-girl-logo", and even a few succulents on the "stamps". I LOVED Heather's Succulents line of fabrics so this brought back lots of sweet memories!

Our samples of Paper Obsessed arrived just as we were releasing our new pattern, Open Wide! Time was limited as we were headed to Market and these were small projects that would allow us to use LOTS of the fun fabrics. So what to make with these awesome fabrics was an easy decision!

Quick and fun to make, these handy zippered bags in three sizes open wide for easy access to all your supplies.

We used a variety of the fun fabrics to make the set of bags and added fun colors of handbag zippers for a little pop of color on each.

And, of course, we used ByAnnie's Soft and Stable when quilting the fabric so that the bags really stand up and hold their shape.

The bags feature two inner mesh pockets to keep things organized and easy to view. Binding on the easy-to-install zipper finishes the upper edges and forms a handle and grab tab.

Perfect for travel, you can slip these classy bags in your suitcase — or use them to maximize the space on your vanity.

Our friends at Windham Fabrics will be giving away fabric at every stop on the tour, so you've got lots of chances to win.

We've also partnered with them to provide a kit so that one lucky winner can make their own Open Wide! bag.

The kit will include everything needed to make an Open Wide! bag in your choice of size (small, medium, or large):
To enter this post's drawing, please comment on this post telling us how you would use your Open Wide! bag. Tell us, too, what color of mesh, zipper, and fold-over elastic you'd like. If you are the lucky winner, we'll make a customized kit just for you! We'll pick a winner at the end of the blog tour on July 26. Hope you win!

Be sure to check out all stops on this blog tour to see the amazing projects made by Heather and her friends. From awesome quilts to fun wearables, you are sure to find something that you'd love to make today.

Again, to be entered to win, just follow the instructions on each blog post. It's SO easy!

So what are you going to make with Paper Obsessed? Any fun patterns come to mind?

Let me know . . . leave your comment below!

  1. An Open Wide bag would be perfect for the colored pencils that seem to be multiplying around my house...and the mesh pockets would be perfect for the sharpener and eraser to go with them! And if you ask me about a color, it's always going to be RED!

  2. Hi, I would use this set to take my 1st cruise. I would be delighted to leave this set on the counter top of my bathroom to look at each day. (the room steward would enjoy it too I'm sure). It's so cheerful it would most certainly put a smile of they're lips as they tidy up. I'd like a yellow zipper, blue mesh and blue fold over elastic.
