Handmade for the Holidays: Bowl Me Over

Handmade for the Holidays

Have you seen our newest pattern Bowl Me Over released at Fall Market? This bag was a crowd favorite! It is so fun in so many different prints. We made 12+ bags right before Market and each one seemed new and exciting.

This bag looks beautiful, AND it's quick and easy to make!
It has three different rounded corners, so we recommend using these Circle Rules from Creative Grids. They come in five different sizes and make cutting those shapes a breeze! The pattern does include templates for the circles if you don't want to purchase the rulers.

We were able to make one of these bags in 4 hours after the fabric was quilted and cut out. While it's not a quick project, it's definitely fast for a purse!

This fun-to-make shoulder bag features a classic bowler silhouette and measures about 10½”H x 13”W x 5”D. The double-zip main compartment opens wide for easy access to the bag's contents. Three interior slip pockets and two full zippered pockets keep everything organized. The exterior front pocket closes with a magnetic snap flap and is perfect for keys or phone.

    1. Great question, Marie! There is only one size, so that makes it easy :). For fabric, you are you going to need 1 & 3/4 yard main, 1 & 3/4 lining, and 5/8 coordinating. I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions.

  2. I am working on this pattern and ready to make the Bias Binding. The pattern does not say how big the square should be. How big should I cut my square.
