Spring Market Recap 2015

We had a great time at International Quilt Market/Spring 2015 in Minneapolis, MN in May. With three Schoolhouses, Sample Spree, and three busy days in the booth, it was a very successful show.

We enjoyed connecting with old and new customers and sharing news about our products, especially our new zipper display rack. Our handbag zippers were especially well-received and customers were especially excited about having a way to easily display the zippers. Unfortunately, our one-and-only rack went home with a customer before we even got pictures of it. Racks are on order — watch for more info coming soon!

Annie was helped in the booth by her long-time friend Lavelle from Portland. It was fun to renew their friendship which goes all the way back to the days when Lavelle was the expert pastry chef at Al and Annie's Alaskan inn. Annie and Lavelle especially enjoyed eating at some of the terrific Minneapolis restaurants and sharing thoughts about sewing projects. An expert seamstress and talented artist, Lavelle is excited about teaching classes based on Annie's patterns in the Pacific Northwest. If you are a store owner in that area, please contact Annie for more info.

Preparation for Market began many months ahead of time, as patterns had to be written, new products had to be prepared, and samples sewn using lots of fun new fabrics. When we say all hands were on deck, we mean it! We kept busy. Many of the bags you will see were sewn by the lovely Kaitlyn Pallas from Knot and Thread. Go show her blog some love.

When all was said and done, this was what Annie still had to pack, even though we'd shipped many samples ahead of time! It doesn't look like everything will fit, but it two very-full suitcases later, Annie is ready to go!

Annie was extra-busy in the booth so didn't get out much to look at other booths. She did manage to do a quick walk-through of a few aisles before the show opened each morning. Here are some favorite booths.

Kathy at Hemma Designs always has something exciting to see. We love her bright, cheery fabrics and fun designs.

We loved working with the Alison Glass's new fabric, Ex Libris, so were excited to see all the other fun samples made with it in her booth.

We loved Anna Maria Horner's booth showcasing her new fabric, Loominous. The woven fabrics were such a brilliant idea!

We used the beautiful yarn-dyed Loominous fabrics to make this fun new quilt, Air Show 2.0 Watch for a new pattern coming soon!

It was especially thrilling to see ByAnnie.com samples all around the show!

Annie also was able to get a picture with two of the ByAnnie.com Team's FAVORITE ladies, Tula Pink and Sara Lawson. Aren't they adorable?

Love the cute dress that Sara made using Tula's new 108" wide backing fabric. Too bad you can't see the cute cute pink heels that match her dress!

We're already making plans for Fall Market in Houston in October/November. Contracts arrived on Friday and we've decided to expand to 3.5 booths this year!

Be sure to mark you calendar for International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston. See you there!
