"Name the Quilt" contest, new kits, and September's free block

The FREE block of the month for September has been posted. This cute school house block is easy to make using paper piecing techniques. You can make it even more fun by fussy-cutting some kids for the windows and doorways.

After a delightful summer in Alaska, I'm back home and ready to tackle some new patterns and sewing projects. I've got a new pattern almost ready to go, but I need your help!
This new quilt, which was designed and made by Heather Purcell, was a big hit in the Superior Threads booth at the Long Beach show this summer and we had lots of requests for the pattern. The pattern is written and the quilt is photographed, but I'm coming up blank on a name for the quilt.
Please send me your ideas. If I pick the name you suggest, I'll send you the first pattern hot off the press FREE!
In response to numerous requests, I now offer kits for the Thread Dispenser/Sewing Case.

The kits include all the ultrasuede, zippers, and heavy-duty vinyl needed to make both the large and the small thread dispensers. These handy cases make great Christmas gifts for friends who quilt or sew, so save time and money by ordering a kit today.

Zippers and ultrasuede come in beige or black. Please be sure to let me know which you prefer.
I've also had numerous requests for a pattern for a carrier for a widescreen laptop. I'm working on that and hope to have a pattern ready soon. I'm learning that widescreen laptops come in lots of sizes, so I'm still trying to figure out just what size/configuration to make. If you have any ideas or special requests for that type of bag, please let me know!

Happy stitching!

Annie

  6. I just love the 3-D spinning affect from this quilt, the colors remind me of how things look when riding a spinning tilt-a-whirl, all the colors of the carnavil look amazing, just like this quilt that I will name TILT-A-WHIRL.
